MEET VUOTS MLK JR. 2026 HONOREES
MLK Jr. Youth Honoree: Lai’Onne Reeves
Lai’Onne Reeves is a VUOTS MLK Jr. 2026 Youth Honoree, nominated by Ordinaire Heroes, in recognition of her leadership, compassion, and commitment to uplifting others. She embodies the values of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through her voice, service, and dedication to her community. Lai’Onne represents a new generation of young leaders who lead with purpose, unity, and care, and VUOTS is proud to celebrate her impact.
MLK Jr. Youth Advocate Honoree: Mrs. April Davis
Mrs. April Davis is an artist, entrepreneur, and community advocate, and the founder of A’Pros Creations LLC. Her work centers representation, creating art that allows young Black boys and girls to see themselves reflected in everyday spaces.
With over 20 years of service to youth as a social worker, mentor, and adoptive parent, she uses art as a tool for empowerment and connection. Her work has been featured on Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia, and she continues to impact communities through murals, youth programming, and creative mentorship across Philadelphia.
From Opportunity to Champions
Victoria Urban Outreach Tutoring Service (VUOTS) was proud to support Darren, a dedicated middle school student who continues to demonstrate commitment both academically and on the field. Opportunities like traveling with his team to Las Vegas are not always accessible to all youth, and VUOTS is honored to contribute to experiences that help broaden horizons and build confidence.
These types of experiences play an important role in shaping young people, teaching teamwork, discipline, and compassion. We are especially excited to share that Darren and his team were successful in their game and earned the title of Champions. We celebrate his achievement and remain committed to uplifting and supporting our youth as they grow both in and beyond the classroom.
